I purchased a used Apple Watch Series 3, and when it came someone’s account was on it so I logged out and went to pairing, it said I needed Watch Os 8.8.1 to continue pairing so I go to download it, and while downloading it keeps saying “5 days remaining” or other long number above 5 hours which seems like a reasonable time, any help?

It’s not id locked.. never said it was either.. literally just being slow while updating for no reason
Did you resolve your issue? I am having the same issue with my Apple Watch Series 3 I just purchased too
