Clamshell mode does not work

With an external monitor connected via USB C, a bluetooth apple keyboard and a magic mouse connected, when I close my MacBook pro lid, the external monitor does not turn back on. How do I fix this?

Hello! Thank you for the insight. I tried connecting my Macbook's power supply...and still the same result.

Also, when I go to the Lock Screen within System preferences, I do not see an option that relates to the display. I am running Monterey.

Any other options?

Thanks

-Sean

  3. Connect the external display to your Mac using the ports. ...
  4. Turn on your external display.

If it doesn't help, try to following method.

  4. Also click Never beside Turn display off on power adapter when inactive.
