How can I update when the button is grayed out?

We could tell you to "try this" and "try that", but we don't want to waste your time asking you to do things that you have already done. So, if you want to continue to try online, we'll need a list of the things that you have already done.
Or, it might be much easier and faster to try an "in person" potential remedy at the Apple Store or authorized Apple Service shop.
Looks like it resolved itself. All of a sudden the link went live…
Connect to the internet and to a power source.
Did that done that… no dice.
