Trackpad click and drag is not working

Trackpad click is not working and there is no sound of click. I am able to work by using tab on the trackpad. If I want to drag option it is not working.

Double tap and hold to drag not working. I used to be able to double tap and hold to drag and highlight. That seems to be not working any more. I am using an M1 MacBook Pro. There also was a setting in the System Settings under Trackpad that I could lock that until tapping again. That seems to be gone now as well. Now I must click the trackpad and hold to do either and I cannot continue highlighting when I release the click. I anyone else having this problem and is there a solution to the problem?

Missing scroll options for Magic Mouse I've connected two separate magic mouses but only the point and click features work, neither will scroll. I went into settings and appear to be missing the "point/click", "scroll/zoom", "more gestures" tabs. Could it be a computer setting issue?

Trackpad issues I originally had my mouse/trackpad set so that I could lightly double-tap on a desktop file with one finger to drag it to another location or to open the file. Yesterday I installed a new software (Wondershare "PDFelement") and I noticed that since then I was not able to drag anything on my desktop unless I lightly tapped and hard-pressed on the window to drag. This is an issue for me when I have 2 or more files opened at the same time and I need to relocate them on my screen. I have gone to "System Settings", "Trackpad", Point & Click" but I can't seem to find a solution. I am presently using Sonoma 14.1.2 OC. I would appreciate some help on this matter...Thank you.

If you haven't already, try checking your Click, Force Click and haptic feedback settings: Change Trackpad settings on Mac - Apple Support

If everything in your Settings looks correct, let us know if any other gestures are affected. If other gestures on your Trackpad are experiencing an issue, reach out to Apple Support directly: Get Support
