Trackpad issues

I originally had my mouse/trackpad set so that I could lightly double-tap on a desktop file with one finger to drag it to another location or to open the file. Yesterday I installed a new software (Wondershare "PDFelement") and I noticed that since then I was not able to drag anything on my desktop unless I lightly tapped and hard-pressed on the window to drag. This is an issue for me when I have 2 or more files opened at the same time and I need to relocate them on my screen. I have gone to "System Settings", "Trackpad", Point & Click" but I can't seem to find a solution. I am presently using Sonoma 14.1.2 OC. I would appreciate some help on this matter...Thank you.

I found the answer to my question!!!! Yes, there is a way to make my trackpad/pointer to double click and drag files/folders on my screen. Go to System Preferences-Accessibility-Pointer Control-Trackpad Options- Check the checkbox for enable dragging (without drag lock).

Just got back from visiting one of the Apple stores in my area to see if my trackpad issue could be resolved. Apparently my computer and the Apple store's computers are both using the latest OS "Sonoma 14.1.2". I am wondering if my trackpad issue has to do with the upgrade. I used to be able to double click and drag folders from one location to another on my desktop but now I have to hard-click to do that. Do others have the same issue or is it a figment of my imagination?
