Apple Health get data from CPAP or MyAir app

When will Apple Health Product Management work with ResMed to share data?

I see the question has been asked as far

back as 2017 so it’s not a new request and 20% of Americans have sleep apnea. That translates to 67 million of the 335 million people. Statistica.com states in 2022 49% of Americans have iPhones it’s a good bet that spending time to develop this integration would be useful!

Its not the development of a new app, only the expansion of receiving data. It would also provide better sleep data as most people remove their Apple Watch to charge when going to bed.

comments from Apple PM would be nice

The MyAir app does not share data with Apple Health. They do take data from Apple Health to share with you on their app. Given how long this discussion has been happening, I think the only way to get them to share data with Apple Health is to give them a 1 star review and explain that they should share YOUR CPAP data with Apple Health, so Apple and other apps can give you feedback on your health and sleep.

If we get enough people to give them a 1 start review and explain why, they might change something. :-)

I just wrote ResMed. You can also write them at the following link.

https://www.resmed.com/en-us/contact-us/

As you fill out your information on the page, it will look like this.

I would recommend everyone possible write them, so that we can get some traction on this. I can't believe RedMed hasn't solved a problem that users have had since 2017! You can see the beginning of what I submitted to them. I'm asking them to share the info back with Apple Health.

You can also use these links to review the the MyAir app and give them the same advice. They might listed to public reviews more than something that has been submitted to their central support team.

Hope we can get all the people on this thread to submit something to ResMed support and also write a review with the suggestions, so that RedMed starts working on this. It's super easy for them to implement. They just need a push to do it.

Yes, as others have pointed out, the only sharing of information between MyAir and Apple Health that I can see, as of today, is the opposite of what would be most useful: MyAir receives information (steps, weight & active energy) from the Health app. I guess this is OK but I’d rather have MyAir send usage statistics to Health so it’s all in one place.

Is this (likely) a limitation of the Health app?

One issue I guess I could see from the Apple Health side is that it would be practical to present information in a unified way regardless of the CPAP manufacturer. So the MyAir “scores” would not necessarily be the same. But to me that’s fine, just send the raw data like usage time, mask on/off count, and events per hour over to Health.

I was excited to get a message saying MyAir was going to be 'integrating' with Apple Health. Then I discovered they were just receiving info on my step count. Are you kidding? That is not the least bit helpful when it comes to evaluating my sleeping or breathing issues.

So, as someone suggested above, I just now left a one-star review on the MyAir App in the Apple App Store. I specifically said I was not happy with the fact that they STILL don't integrate with Apple Health on such an important issue. I encourage everyone else to make your feelings know on the app store as well. I don't know whether this is an Apple problem or a ResMed/MyAir problem, but I started with MyAir.

The recent update to the MyAir iPhone app says it is now able to share data to Apple Health and there is a toggle in the MyAir app where I find the sharing to Apple Health can be turned on or off. With that said I can't find any CPAP data in the Apple Health app.

You might get lucky around here, but best check with the documentation for and then the people that are supporting the particular app.

I found this too. I was then totally perplexed to discover that the ONLY data that MyAir shares with Apple Health app is my Steps data. I mean, WTH does MyAir need to see my steps data for, and it certainly can’t then provide any kind of update on my Steps back to Apple Health.

The cynic in me wonders whether Resmed have done this just to be able to claim “Apple Health Integration”.

As brucefromsherman oaks mentioned, there is an option in the MyAir app to share data from Apple Health. As of right now it looks like the sharing of data only goes in one direction- from Apple Health to MyAir, and even so it doesn’t look like enabling this sharing provides any more information/functionality to the user in the MyAir app. I’m assuming what we’re really allowing is the MyAir app to send additional health information to our provider or whoever is monitoring our cpap therapy results. I agree that better integration between MyAir and Apple health would be really useful for many people
