Red Bar streaks on Macbook air M2

Since i was not able to reply back, i'm having the exact problem as the following thread

Weird horizontal red bar with streaks of … - Apple Community

And is starting to get more often specially when the battery runs out and i restart or when the laptop is being used for a long time.

I think this is hardware problem.

You got it. Call AppleCare, and work with them what they will do about it.

Now keep in mind, spills and drops are not a good lead to having this problem.

Also if the machine was not transported in a padded bag when it was transported, or its original egg shell encasing cover that was in the box that shipped with it, any bumps it may have incurred could have led to issues with it.

Lastly, the force needed to bend the laptop screen back will increase when it should not allow you to push any further, it is not designed to light flat 180 degrees. If you push it too far back, that can damage the inverter cable and cause such a scenario with the screen.

If you don't feel any of these causes are to blame and it is under a year old or under AppleCare be sure to let them know there was no logical cause for it to have started on its own.

Suggest the User start with Points 1 to 4 and then Test

Still having issues, move onto Steps 5 and 6 and Test Again

Still no resolve - move onto Step 7 and follow instructions therein

1 - Restart in Safe Mode. This will perform a Disk Repair, clear cache files and only load Apple Software, extensions and fonts. The boot up will be slow and can take some time - Normal.

2 - Safe Mode will also eliminate Third Party Software, extensions and drivers from loading. It will only load the Minimum amount of Core Apple Processes to allow the the computer to function at a reduced Level of Performance

3 - Does the issue present in this mode ?

4 - Sometimes a Safe Boot followed by a Normal Boot will just put things right.

5 - If not - there could be something in the main User Account playing up. To further isolate this - Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac. Then log out of the Main User account and log into the dummy account and test again if the issue persists.

6 - If the issue is present in the dummy account - then, this appears to be a System Wide issue on the computer.

7 - Download the Application Etrecheck directly from the Developer.

This is a Diagnostic Tool that makes no changes to the computer.

It makes a coherent and readable inventory of both the Hardware and Software used on the computer

The application is free or paid from added features.

The hardware test may not always detect all hardware issues. A loose or frayed cable may not be as easy to detect as a circuit that is failing on the board. Lines on displays typically revolve around inverter chips or their cables. An overstretched display screen or moisture on exposed cable, or trauma to the computer could trigger such events. I have seen some displays overstretched backwards because the hinge was not properly tightened on assembly, or not reassembled correctly to during repair. This is where an authorized service center really needs to look at it to determine what is going on. I have actually seen scenarios where moisture from condensation can create havoc with computers.

That tells me it is clearly on the inverter assembly. If the graphics chip was at fault it might have shown on both displays. Bring that to an Apple Authorized Service Center including the video link with you so you can show it. We are just end users here.

Also check your Mac for exchange/repair programs:

before going, and backup your data before going.

Is not related with any of points you raised. The laptop has less than 1 year and I'm extreme careful transporting the laptop. it seems more people are having the same issue, so definitely is an hardware issue. Need to go to a store since Apple online support doesn't provide a temporary replacement during diagnostics. Starting to think that I should have bought a PC...

I finally was able to replicate the problem

So basically i run out battery and before it shutdown it saved the last state

When i put on charge and boot again the laptop have a bar where it shows loading the last state of the laptop and when it boots then the loading bar becomes RED as shown on the following video:

I see on the Forum that this is happening with a lot of people why Apple is not fixing this issue or recall the laptops to fix it?

The forum is not a perfect indicator of what "a lot" might be. Number of views can be number of repeated views by the same individual. And many of the posters may not have experienced the same issue with the same model & vintage computer, but know what these issues are from prior models, such as myself.

Apple does have Apple Service Programs - Apple Support

for out of warranty devices.

In the meantime, if you are under AppleCare, give AppleCare a call. We are just end users. AppleCare does offer mail in rush orders if your local service center is backlogged.
