Does iPod Classic 4 use USB-A to charge?

For my birthday, I'm getting a iPod Classic 4. But I need to know because does it use USB-A to charge or FireWire to charge, or both? Thank you!

Apple and MacTracker both indicate that there were only three generations of iPod Classics:

  • iPod Classic (September 2007)
  • iPod Classic (120 GB) (September 2008)
  • iPod Classic (160 GB) (Late 2009)

They had 30-pin dock connectors and charged and synchronized through USB.

Are you perhaps thinking of the iPod (Click Wheel)? Apple says that it is "referred to as the fourth-generation iPod."
