AIR QUALITY INDEX in the weather app

Why can’t I always view the AQI in the weather app? It only allows me to view the map when my air quality is poor. Sometimes I just want to view the AQI around the country or where my family is located elsewhere, especially when it’s fluctuating day by day with the Canadian wildfires.

There are a few reasons why the Air Quality Index (AQI) may not show for some cities in the iOS Weather app.

The city may not have an AQI station. The AQI is calculated based on data from air quality monitoring stations. If there is no station in a particular city, the AQI will not be available.
The city may not have an AQI provider. The AQI data for the Weather app is provided by BreezoMeter. If BreezoMeter does not have data for a particular city, the AQI will not be available.
When the weather app shows precipitation, it is difficult to measure AQI when it is raining. Rain can wash away pollutants from the air, making it difficult to measure their concentrations. Additionally, rain can interfere with the operation of air quality monitoring instruments. As a result, AQI readings may be inaccurate or unavailable during periods of rain.

Thanks for your response. I understand some cities not reporting and gray areas existing. I guess I’m still wishing to view the continents on the AQI map even if my area is green. I would like to see the location of the red zones and yellow zones to have a better understanding of what’s happening around the world. Apple weather map for AQI worldwide won’t open if my location is green in a small box is what I’m trying to say. Thank you.
