Can you tell us more about your iPhone and your Mac?
- Which system version is installed on your devices?
- Do you have iCloud Photos enabled on the iPhone?
- Or have some of the photos on your iPhone been synced to the iPhone from your Mac?
- What is the format of the photos on the iPhone? Are the photos JPEGs or HEIC files?
- Are you getting an error message, when you try to import photos? If yes, what is the error message?
Some photos cannot be downloaded directly from the iPhone to your Mac:
- If iCloud Photos is enabled on the iPhone and also "Optimize iPhone Storage" not all photos you are seeing on the iPhone are actually stored on the iPhone in full resolution and your Mac cannot download them from the iPhone, as the photos are only in iCloud. In that case you should download the photos directly from iCloud, or you will get random results.
- If you have synced photos manually from your Mac to the iPhone using a USB connection, you cannot download these photos directly from the iPhone. Synced photos are stored separately on the iPhone in albums in the "From My Mac" section. These photos are not visible, when downloading photos from the iPhone.
