Forgot To Forget Bluetooth Devices

I had an iPad 6 with a bluetooth keyboard (Logitech) and mouse (Microsoft). Worked great. Last week I upgraded to an iPad Pro.

After migrating my old iPad to my new iPad, I erased the iPad 6 and gave it to my wife. But before wiping it, I didn't have it "forget" the bluetooth devices because I figured erasing would include the "forgetting".

But now I can't connect the keyboard or mouse to my iPad Pro. It sees them as available devices, but refuses to connect. I opened the iPad 6 and they won't connect to it either any longer. Out of curiosity I tried connecting them to my phone and my AppleTV and the same deal... sees the keyboard and mouse, but won't connect.

Is this because I didn't have the iPad 6 "forget" the devices before I wiped it? Are they now locked somehow to a version of the iPad 6 that no longer exists?

When the migration process finished, IOS asked me if I wanted to erase the old iPad and I just clicked "yes", again assuming that would take care of all the bluetooth connections.
