How do I bring visible numbers to my keypad with latest iOS?

We want to be sure we understand. Does the keypad not appear so you can enter your passcode when your iPad is locked, or do you no longer see the option to show numbers and symbols when using the keyboard?
If you haven't already, restart your iPad to see if fresh connections help. Restarting can often help with odd issues. If needed, force restart it.
