Closed ring week animation

Hi

I have a problem related to ring animations. Most of the time during week - monday to saturday - I close one ring, I get notification about closed ring and if that is single notification - e.g. closed stand circle, fireworks animation appears. Sometimes I get 2 notifications at the same time - e.g. extended movement streak, now I have to press crown button and in like 90% of cases it shows me fireworks otherwise I get no animation.

But on every sunday I close exercise ring first, I get notification about that and at the same time notification about perfect exercise week and sometimes even about completing 7-th workout in a week - I press crown button and I see only watch face nothing happens no fireworks or special week ring animation.

Then I close movement ring - same situation again - I get closed movement ring notification, perfect week notification and extended movement streak notification, but no animation after pressing crown button.

At last I close stand ring, again 2 notifications at the same time - closed stand ring and perfect stand week but no animation.

I have read here that Perfect week all rings closed - the Smoke… - Apple Community maybe instead of pressing crown a touch on display when it says Activity has 2 or 3 notifications wil solve this and I will see those nice ring animations. But my watch says no, it only takes me to earned award so no animation. I tried touching display/pressing crown as soon as notifications appear, wating for few seconds or minute or so, but to no avail.

On New Year's Eve I have got nice fireworks notification, but i could replay this one all day by clicking/touching that notification in notification center. Why is this impossible for activity notifications? Clearly I am not single person with this problem and many people like to see those nice closing ring animations.

Please give me advice how to fix this issue

Hi there, i also had issues and have just had support from apple. They recommended i do the following:

  • On the watch app on your phone, go to Notifications and turn OFF "Tap to Show Full Notification"
  • Turning that setting off will also allow you to read messages and other notifications on your watch without having to tap on them first which is the way it used to work before the OS upgrades.

I won't know until later today if it has worked. I will keep you posted.

Hello Peto819,

Please check out this link, which has information on closing your rings with the Activity app, which may be helpful: Track daily activity with Apple Watch

Check your progress

Open the Activity app  on your Apple Watch at any time to see how you’re doing. The Activity app displays three rings.

* The red Move ring shows how many active calories you’ve burned.
* The green Exercise ring shows how many minutes of brisk activity you’ve done.
* The blue Stand ring shows how many times in the day you’ve stood and moved for at least one minute per hour.
The Activity screen, showing the Move, Exercise, and Stand rings.

If you specified that you use a wheelchair, the blue Stand ring becomes the Roll ring and shows how many times in the day you’ve rolled for at least one minute per hour.

Turn the Digital Crown to see your current totals—keep scrolling to see your progress as a graph, your total steps, total distance, workouts, and flights climbed.

An overlapping ring means you exceeded your goal. Turn the Digital Crown, then tap Weekly Summary to see how you’re doing for the week.

See your weekly summary
1. Open the Activity app  on your Apple Watch.
2. Turn the Digital Crown to scroll to the bottom of the screen, then tap Weekly Summary.

The summary includes a week’s totals for calories, average calories, steps, distance, flights climbed, and active time.

I too like the animation; it's a little accomplishment that I really look forward too every time. Very disappointed that a badge pops up in it's stead.

A recent update allowed ring to show long after earning green ring while in a workout (earn ring, complete workout, hit "end" button, exit fitness app, see ring! That was an awesome fix. Now, let's show the fireworks AFTER the badges please.
