Download photo album to windows 11 laptop

Hello

I have lots of albums with photos stored in iCloud.

In order to free up space in iCloud, I wish to remove some of the albums permanently from iCloud and save on my laptop.

Is it possible to save the album with the photos in it or do I have to make a folder with album name and save photos into it.

How do I do this.

I have Windows 11 on my laptop.

iPhone XR, iOS 16

You will want to use iCloud for Windows for this. See if the following steps will work for you:

  1. Make sure you have iCloud for Windows installed on your PC. If not, you can download it from the Microsoft Store.
  2. Launch iCloud for Windows on your PC and sign in with your Apple ID and password.
  3. In the iCloud for Windows main window, you'll see various options for syncing iCloud content. Make sure the "Photos" option is checked and click on the "Options" button next to it.
  4. In the Photos Options window, select the options you prefer for syncing photos, such as downloading new photos and videos to your PC, creating new folders for your uploads, etc. Then click "Done" to save your settings.
  5. Back in the main iCloud for Windows window, click on the "Apply" button to start syncing your iCloud photos with your PC.
  6. Once the syncing process is complete, you can find your iCloud photos in the "iCloud Photos" folder on your PC. This folder is typically located in the "This PC" or "File Explorer" window.

You should now be able to open the iCloud Photos folder and access your photos. From there, you can copy or move them to any other folder on your PC as desired.
