Why does Apple lie on shipping dates on pre-certified devices —they are shipped UPS ground….

Why does Apple flat out lie when offering pre-certified devices? Here is one example when i ordered a certified refurbished iphone on jun 29

Order by 5 p.m.. Delivers to 05408(Get Delivery Dates)

Sat, Jul 1 — $8.00

Mon, Jul 3 — Free

I ordered Thur Jun 29th. APPLE FLAT OUT LIED.

NO DELIVERY ON MONDAY JUL 3.

Called Apple, Unnamed apple employee in post sales said it was in Rhode Island and did not know why it was delayed and would not be delivered until friday July 7.

AFTER SPENTING 2 hrs getting through to A human at UPS, THESE PHONES ARE SHIPPED out of Texas UPS GROUND 3-5 BUSINESS DAYS.

APPLE POST SALES LIED TO ME SAYING IT WAS IN RHODE ISLAND.

AFTER I ESCALATED A COMPLAINT WITH UPS- UPS TOLD ME MY iphone is in Texas. WTF Apple.

Okay, same link I gave.

The basic issue here is the system gave you a date for normal delivery service times. July 3rd is not normal this year as it falls on a Monday, the day before a national holiday.

It shouldn't be a surprise that like many companies, a lot of employees get such days off, or take them off, to make it a four day weekend. This slows everything down.

Packages going the wrong way also isn't as unusual as you'd think. We had a package of photo prints mailed to a northern city in Minnesota from the Twin Cities. It should have only taken a couple of days to get there. After 5 days, the client wondered where it was. We called USPS and found out it was, for who knows what reason, on the east coast in Virginia.

It happens. I'm sure you'll have it soon.

Overnight rates are much higher than ground. Why should Apple eat that extra expense? Surely, you can't need the phone that quickly. If you did, then you should have gone directly to an Apple Store to purchase whatever they had in stock at whatever price it cost.

No business, that wants to stay in business, pays for anything out of its own pocket. You will eventually pay out more than you can afford in bills that were never covered by the customer. There's a very large gap between pleasing your customers and intentionally, albeit maybe slowly, going broke.
