Apple Pencil stopped working after dropping it

a while back the nib snapped inside my Apple pen making it impossible for me to switch out nibs and since then has been tightly together with tape most recently I dropped my pen on accident and is no longer responding pencil is fully charged and and connected but nothing I do makes the pen responsive

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. To get started, let's verify the following:

  • Make sure your iPad is running the latest OS version.
  • Test if the issue persists after unpairing and re-pairing the Apple Pencil.
  • Test if the issue occurs in only one part of the iPad screen, or anywhere on the screen.
  • Make sure the Apple Pencil Tip is tightened and then try again.
  • Test if the issue happens on a newly created Note


If the issue persists, and your Apple Pencil won't respond, we'd suggest getting it inspected for possible hardware issue. You can locate the nearest Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider using this link:
