How do I know if it’s a scam or not

It's a scam that is trying to trick you into buying useless software that will do nothing useful for your phone, but it will help to stuff the pockets of the people peddling this junk.

Unless you have jailbroken your iPhone, you don't have a virus as iPhone is virtually immune to virus. If you received a message you have a virus, DELETE the message as its a scam, hoping you'll fall for it and buy support you don't need.
