No option to delete the “recently deleted”
iPhone XR
Hmm. I do appreciate you trying to help. I don’t see a place “recently deleted” option on the 2nd picture, therefore, I am unable to go into “recently deleted.”
Your advice is:
Open the Messages app. Tap “Edit” on top, then “Show Recently Deleted”. Then choose “Delete All”.
On the XR phone (which is the second screenshot), there is no option to “Show recently deleted”
I have a 12 but and I can easily permanently deleted “messages” that have been “recently deleted” but the option on the XR phone is not there.
Oh, you’re talking about Messages, not Photos.
Open the Messages app. Tap “Edit” on top, then “Show Recently Deleted”. Then choose “Delete All”.
I have no idea where the screenshot you presented originated. UPDATE: Might that be iCloud Messages? If you use that service, I believe my approach would still work.
Your latest screenshot provides no additional clue to me. My response remains unchanged.
When opening the Messages app, tap “Edit”:
Then see the bottom here:
“Recently deleted” … what? I will assume you mean photos.
If so, select the desired photo(s) and choose “Delete”.
The first pic is the 12 but the second picture is the “XR” and does not give the option. That makes it impossible to go to “recently deleted.”
I am trying to help someone else with her phone (XR).
