Total steps YTD
How do you read total monthly steps? I do not want an average number by doing this:
Health app/browse/activity/steps and you can see daily, weekly, monthly and yearly.
The info has got to be there?
iPhone 13 Pro

It is such a simple task for a computer to keep track of steps.
Pedometer wants to charge money for that part of their app.
Yes, it would. If the app you select syncs to Health, it would access all of the data you have there, including the historical data. The app would then be able to display that data in whatever way it is programmed to do, which might be different from the way Health displays it. Don't bother with apps that don't sync to Health.
I did not suggest "Pedometer" and don't know anything about it. I think that StepsApp does have a one time charge.
Apple doesn't view steps as a particularly relevant indicator of overall health so they haven't made displaying it a priority. They leave it to third-party apps to fill the gaps for people who are interested in that information. You can certainly let Apple know what you'd like to see here:
Perhaps they may one day change their perspective.
There's an app called StepsApp that I think will do what you want. I'm sure there are lots of others as well.

Multiply the average number of steps per day shown by the number of days Indicated.
Yes but if pedometer can do it why can't an iPhone?
Apple has made its design decisions.
