Health app - Medications

I have started using the Medications feature in the Health App but am finding it very frustrating as there is no way to record data other than at the moment it is “taken”. I don’t normally have my phone to hand when taking medications but like to keep my records up to date in a number of categories - either with my morning coffee or at a break in the work day.

This particular feature has no way to curate data in this way. If you don’t record it immediately the only option is to enter bad data at a later date or time to build up a very approximate record. I am hoping this will be addressed shortly to making the editing paradigm consistent with other data types.

You can change the time that you take the medication. I often do this. When you go to log the medication, tap the line that says "2 tablets at 10:02am" (it will default to the current time). You can then change the time to whatever time you actually took the medication.

Hello

I understand your frustration. This is a feature being released in iOS 17 (coming this Fall) however!

iOS - Health - Apple - For all upcoming Health app updates.

If you ever have any feedback, Apple promises to read all submissions very carefully - Feedback - Health - Apple. I'd highly recommend suggestion anything you'd like to see in future updates and it could be added!

We're all Apple users here just like you!

Any feedback you'd want to give to Apple (for Health) should go here - Feedback - Health - Apple! As I said above, Apple promises to "read all feedback carefully, but we are unable to respond to each submission individually."

Give them your feedback/suggestion and I'm sure they'll consider adding it down the line. Apple has seem to really been updating the Health app and adding more and more health features so there is a chance!

Thank you for your amazingly quick reply. I thought I would be howling in the wind, but you guys are clearly listening! I look forward to the next upgrade.

Since I have your contact can I raise one more piece of feedback on the section of the Health app that records Alchohol Consumption. I am under doctor's orders on this one too and try to keep an accurate record of my consumption. In the UK, health guidance on alcohol is expressed in "units" where each unit is 10ml of pure alcohol. So to work this out you need to do a bit of mental arithmetic to multiply volume by %alcohol. Using this technique I record my consumption into the app, in these UK units, where wine might be anything between 1.5 and 2.0 per small glass - but can get as high as 3.5 for a large glass. The UK target is 14 units per week, so I try to keep my average in the range of 2.0 to 2.5 per day, which is achievable if I abstain a few days per week.

It would be very helpful, if the app allowed you to decide whether you were recording "drinks" or something more precise. Being able to simply enter volume and alcohol content would be even better but perhaps too nerdy for a clean iOS interface.
