Apple CarPlay keeps interrupting the radio

I have seen this issue posted multiple times across these forums with various suggestions for fixes and none of them work. After CarPlay connects to my radio it then continuously interrupts the source I am listening to every 15-20 seconds or so. It happens with any source satellite, FM, etc doesn't matter. It will briefly change the source to CarPlay as if it were to play music. The interruption is brief, you can see the CarPlay source pop up for a couple seconds then it returns to the original source. Each time it does this the music or whatever I'm playing stops briefly, so basically every 15-20 seconds the radio goes silent for a few seconds. I own two vehicles with CarPlay and it happens with both of them. They happen to both be Jeep vehicles, but this problem is clearly not specific to a particular manufacturer as there are posts on here for the same issue with people of numerous different makes and models. If you simply google "apple CarPlay interrupts radio" or some search term similar to that, you will see numerous examples. This is very evidently an iPhone or CarPlay issue. I am going to link an article for example that speaks about this below. I tried every single suggestion in this article and none of them fixed the problem. What does briefly fix it is a hard reset of the phone, but that basically only lasts for the period you are in the car. Next time you get in the issue is right back again.. I think we would all agree, no one should be expected to hard reset their phone every time they set foot in their vehicle.

I've never posted on here before so not sure how this works, but this needs to get escalated to the engineers at apple that can QA this problem. The community specialist responses, while appreciated, have not provided a viable solution. Can someone please fix this???

I'm attaching two screenshots below of what happens, the first is my regular source, the second is when CarPlay interrupts and the music or whatever I am listening to goes out for a few seconds. I'm also attaching the following link to on example of the many posts I've found on here regarding this issue. This post I found the most informative and as I said, I tried every step in this post from the poster and the community specialist and the problem persists. Please get this to the Apple team or direct me to where I can send along myself, thank you for your time.

For those that see this post and are experiencing this issue, I found the problem, it was an app on my phone triggering this annoying, repetitive interruption. After reaching out to Apple support and running diagnostics on my phone they were unable to provide me with an answer and instead told me it was a Jeep UI issue which made absolutely no sense. All of the evidence pointed to this originating from the iPhone. As a quick for instance, doing a hard reset on the phone would fix the issue temporarily. That simple fact basically proves it's coming from the phone itself and nothing to do with the car's UI. Furthermore, there are posts on here and other sites from people with many different car manufacturers with totally different UI's experiencing this issue. The only unifying item between the posts being the phone, so it had to be arising form the iPhone. I found another post where a person stated they deleted a specific app on their phone (Bria) and it fixed the problem. I did not have that app on my device, but it directed me to start testing individual apps by opening them in my car to see if I could reproduce the problem. Sure enough, one of the apps triggered the switching issue after opening, I then hard closed it via the app switcher and the repetitive switching stopped. This app is a secure communications app, it has nothing to do with entertainment, navigation, etc so I have no idea why it would have any ability to interact with an iPhone connected to CarPlay but it certainly does. I know others have had this same issue from other community forum posts, so if it is affecting you too, start testing apps on your phone as I did to find the culprit. If it is an app you don't need, simply delete it. If you need it then just hard close by opening the app switcher and swiping upward to close the app and this will fix the problem! Hope this helps some other people out there that may be plagued by this issue.
