Unable to install Zoom after uninstalling older version

After repeatedly being unable to install the Zoom update when prompted, I followed Zoom's online fix and deleted Zoom then downloaded the update from the download center. Now, when I try to install I get an alert that the installation failed. Repeated attempts to solve via Zoom tech support have not been successful. This is my SOS.

Try booting into Safe Mode to see if you can install it. If this works, then you have some third party software installed which is interfering with the normal operation of macOS. Usual culprits are anti-virus apps, cleaning/optimizer apps, and third party security software....none of which are needed on a Mac. If Safe Mode doesn't help and you have any of these types of apps installed, then uninstall them by following the developer's instructions.

Have you tried to reinstall the old version? If you can do that, do so and uninstall it with the free app AppCleaner. It's safe and effective and does a good job of getting all the leftovers.

Once you get all (or most maybe) of the old app off the Mac, you may be able to install the new version.

You can also do a Spotlight search for old app leftovers, but that involves a certain amount of risk.

Thanks for your response. Much appreciated but it still won't install. I agree with you, and don't use 3rd-party security software, which is not needed on Mac. The Zoom tech agent gave me to following fix:

Add the installer from the path ”/System/Library/CoreServices/Installer.app”... to Privacy and Security —> full disk access and then enable it. Then, enable Privacy and Security ->files and folders —>installer—>downloads folder. After enabling these options, kindly try to re-install the Zoom client.

Problem is, no Installer.app. Wading through all this process exceeds my capability, and Zoom does not offer 1-on-1 support except for a huge fee upgrade. Huge. Nonetheless, I truly appreciate your suggested remedy.
