Just bought the brand new macbook air 15”
connected echo for speaker as i used to use before and no sound.
using MacOs Ventura 13.4.1 and echo is up to date.
has apple fixed this problem i know it happened with previous OS as well

Unfortunately I have no Echo speaker to test. Is the speaker listed in System Settings > Sound > Output?
Well, as I mentioned I have no Echo speakers and have never dealt with them so I have no ideas. Maybe someone else does and will reply. You might want to contact Amazon Echo Support if you haven't already.
It is an Amazon echo, the echo is linked to my air book it recognizes ok as a speaker and have even checked the sound setting in the mac. It just does not direct the sound to it. i know it had been a problem before, it’s frustrating because the sound from the echo when connected to my other laptops made a big difference especially when listening to music or watching a movoe
I don't have an Echo Speaker but I found numerous links on how to connect one to a Mac. Is it an Amazon or Google Echo speaker?
Yes it is listed as speaker and when selected the audio from macbook air stops and no sound from echo.
also checked alexa app and when i check the device it says it is connected to macbook
