Hello, I have a Mac Pro 2010 ( 5,1 ) that was running Mojave but recently upgraded itself to Catalina ?
I don’t know how it did it but it did.
I thought Mojave was the last supported OS for the 5,1 ?
Can you tell me what is the NEWEST Supported OS for the 5,1 Mac Pro ?
I also have a 2009 Mac Pro ( 4,1 ) I want to upgrade the OS.
The oldest Apple supports on the Mac Pro 5,1 is 10.14 Mojave.
The oldest MacOS still receiving security updates is the current one at the the previous two. As of this writing, MacOS 11 Big Sur. (which would be 10.16 if they stayed with the old numbering system.)
If Apple stays on their usual schedule, Sonoma will be released in the fall, and MacOS 11 Big Sur will go unsupported after that.

Mojave is the latest for Mac Pro 5,1, though you need to install metal video card.
latest macOS for 2009 Mac Pro 4,1 is El Capitan.
