Strange Error (/OPublic/)

Hi,

For the last couple of days, this message has been appearing at the bottom left of my screen every few minutes.

Since it started appearing my Mac occassionally freezes for a few seconds but the fans don't ramp up to indicate that a lot of work is going on.

I'm running a fully up to date Monterey (12.6.7).

A Google search did not produce any results for this error. I've left the /OPublic/ string in the header to help anyone searching for this in future.

Can someone tell me what it is and (hopefully) how to fix it?

TIA,

Hi,

Thanks for the tip - I didn't know about that or that my image had personal info in when I posted it.

I've found out what the problem is and it's Microsoft Outlook. For some reason the account had become corrupted. Creating a new default account in Outlook and manually re-entering my mail settings allowed me to continue collecting mail and has removed the error.

As a test, I switched back to the old account (set it back as default) and within 20 minutes the error returned. I've removed the old account info and things seemed to have settled down.

Hopefully, this post will prove useful to someone else in future which is why I put as much of the error message in the title as possible - to make searching easier.

Thanks,

Please note, a moderator removed the image, so we can't see where Opublic is showing and won't be able to provide feedback. Use the application Preview to crop out or white out with a filled white square over personal information. When you open the imge in the application Preview, use the tool on the far right to enable all the editing tools to amend your image.

Then use the marquee to crop any personal information out that is not essential, or rectangles on the editing tool.
