iPhone video formats compatible with Android and Windows

Hi - I have been looking for a solution to this as I want videos on my iPhone to be playable on Android and Windows. I have selected “most compatible” but some posts suggest this only applies to photos on iPhone. I should be able to share videos from my iPhone to android and windows users (e.g by uploading to a cloud service) without me having to edit the file or non-Apple users having to install third party software.

Is this possible or not?

"most compatible" shoots old .jpg images and H.264 (AVC) movies instead newer .heic and H.265 (HEVC) that older operating systems (macOS 10.12 Sierra or older) do not support.

Thank you - if it could at least work on Windows that would be good, I’ve also shared some vids with an Android friend so I’ll see if they have been able to access.

Windows Media Player 12 is supposed to be able to play H.264 videos.

If you cannot upgrade to this version, you could try to convert the H.264 videos on your Windows computer.

I cannot test on Windows which video converters will be a good bargain. But H.264 is a very common format. Search for "H.264" and Windows.
