Temperature in the trunk

I drived my car at 34-35 C degeee for two hours and my macbook pro m2 was in carrying bag in my car’s trunk When I removed from my bag it was hot but not too much.Do you think it was too hot?

Don't know because you did not say how hot it was in the trunk. Here are the tech specs for the computer which includes storage temperatures. If the trunk was hotter than that specified in the specifications then it was too hot.

Don't know because you did not say how hot it was in the trunk. Here are the tech specs for the computer which includes storage temperatures. If the trunk was hotter than that specified in the specifications then it was too hot.

If the computer was turned off (different from sleep mode), then the temperature tolerances are higher.

If the computer was in sleep mode, then it is technically on, but doing almost nothing (CPU will not get very hot).


Operating temperature: 50° to 95° F (10° to 35° C)
Storage temperature: –13° to 113° F (–25° to 45° C)

Above the top operating tolerance, the fans may not be able to air cool enough while using.

If the sensors detect a too high temperature, then the computer will turn off to protect itself. Lowering the temperature (e.g. air conditioned room) later will bring it back to operating tolerances. No harm.


Batteries do not like heat. That may shorten the lifespan if it happens regularly (e.g. living in countries with warmer climates).
