I have an iMac G4 20 inch and when I put in a movie DVD and it plays, but when I put in a Music or an OS X installer cd it spins but then stops then ejects I tried a cd disk cleaner, but nothing happened I am open to suggestions Thanks.

That certainly suggests a dirty drive lens on the CD side as opposed to drive failure. Try multiple cleaning passes. If you used a dry drive cleaner, try one of those that uses bit of liquid cleaner.
If the does not work, then you should look for an external optical drive.

I tried using a little bit of liquid that the CD cleaner came with, but it did not do anything, and it makes like a little tick noise before ejecting. An external drive does work, but I would like to get the internal CD drive to work. DVDs work but CDs don’t
