CD ejecting using Sonoma 14.4.1

Apple CD/DVD is non-recognized on my MacBook Pro running Sonoma 14.4.1, therefore, I am unable to eject an installed cd.

Attempts, all to no avail:

  1. logout / login
  2. restart
  3. nothing shows up to "force quit"
  4. ⌘E on logging out and back in
  5. ⌘E on restarting

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 14.4

Open the Terminal app (CMD + Space, then search for it) and run the below command exactly as shown:

drutil tray eject
