How to pin contacts in messages

Go to messages don’t open the message but click on the contact messages you want to pin , press and hold , it will pop up options the first option should be “pin”

Text messages not showing contact name. I have only noticed this over the last couple of days but it seems when someone messages me it does not display their name. It simply just says messages has anyone else ran into this? Is there a way to change it back so it displays your contacts name?
