Video Won’t Send

I have a 5 second video from an iPhone sent to my iPhone. I want to send it to another iPhone and it won’t send. I have shut the phone off. I have copied the video and tried to send. It will send to an Android phone, but it won’t send to iPhones.

Hi MykaRose,

Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities. We understand you're having trouble texting a video to another person. If it's a video you received initially via text, you'll want to make sure you download the video to Photos first. Then you'll want to follow the steps in this article: Send photos and videos in Messages on iPhone - Apple Support.

"Note: Your carrier may set size limits for attachments; iPhone may compress photo and video attachments when necessary.

Send a photo or video

  1. In Messages, do any of the following while writing a message:
    • Take a photo within Messages: Tap the Camera button, frame the shot in the viewfinder, then tap the Take Picture button.
    • Take a video within Messages: Tap the Camera button, choose Video mode, then tap the Record Video button.
    • Choose an existing photo or video: Tap the Photos button to see recent shots, then swipe up to search or browse through all photos and albums.

2. Tap the Send button to send your message or the Remove Photo button to cancel.

If you receive multiple photos or videos at the same time, they’re automatically grouped into a collage (two to three items) or a stack (four or more). You can swipe through a stack to view, reply, or interact with each photo or video individually.

To save a photo or video, tap the Save button next to the photo or stack.

Note: You can turn communication safety on or off on a family member’s device. When you turn on this setting, the Messages app can detect nudity in photos on your child’s device before the photos are sent or received, and provides resources to help your child handle the situation (not available in all countries or regions). Apple doesn’t get access to the photos as a result of this feature.

If you're unable to send it to one person, then it could be an issue on the recipients end. You can test to see if another person with an iPhone can receive it.

We hope this helps.

Take care.
