show notifications toggle missing

I have an iPhone 11 Pro, running iOS 16.5.1 I I had to delete my phone from my 2018 Subaru and re-add it again. I did "Forget this device" on my phone and deleted the phone from my car's system. I added the phone back to my car, but I no longer have the 'show notifications toggle' under the bluetooth "i" button. All I show is "Device Type" , Sync Contacts, Phone favorites Phone recents , all contacts and Forget This Device. I no longer have the "Show Notifications toggle" and therefore cannot get my text messages on my car screen nor read to me by the car's audio system. Prior to the re-install my car's system displayed my text messages or read them through the audio system if the car is in motion.

I have troubleshooted everything with no resolution. I have deleted my car from my phone several times as well as deleting my phone from my car each time and rebooted my phone numerous times. Then re-paired the device, but still the settings under "i" no longer provide the 'show notifications toggle'.

APPLE - Please HELP, soon - thanks.

Thank you for your reply, but possibly I did not state the problem clearly enough - this has nothing to do with Carplay - it has to do with a function that previously existed and worked perfectly through my vehicles bluetooth connection. I am 99% sure the problem exists due to an ios update (also indicated by other peoples posts). If I connect my iPhone 6S (ios 15.7.6) everything works, including the 'show notifications toggle'. I and others with the same problem hope Apple monitors this community forum and will take corrective action in their next update!

p.s. I had already tried all your suggested troubleshooting solutions - needless to say none helped, thanks for trying.

If you're missing the "Show Notifications" toggle under the Bluetooth settings in your CarPlay-enabled Subaru, there are a few possible reasons and troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Software Update: Make sure that both your iPhone and your car's infotainment system are running the latest software versions. Check for any available updates and install them if necessary. Software updates often bring bug fixes and improvements to CarPlay functionality.
  2. On your iPhone, go to "Settings" > "CarPlay" and select your Subaru from the list of available vehicles. Ensure that the "Allow CarPlay While Locked" option is enabled. Sometimes, toggling this setting off and on can help refresh the CarPlay configuration.
  3. On your car's infotainment system, look for a "CarPlay" or "Phone Projection" menu. Within that menu, you may find an option to reset CarPlay settings. Resetting CarPlay can resolve minor glitches and configuration issues. Note that this will remove any customizations or saved settings you have made for CarPlay.
  4. If the above steps didn't resolve the issue, you might consider performing a factory reset of your car's infotainment system. However, this should be done cautiously, as it will erase all personalized settings and configurations. Refer to your Subaru's user manual or contact the manufacturer for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.
  5. If the problem persists after trying the troubleshooting steps above, it would be best to reach out to Subaru customer support or visit a Subaru dealership. They can provide specific guidance and assistance tailored to your car model and its infotainment system.

Remember that the availability and functionality of certain features, including the "Show Notifications" toggle, can vary between different car models and software versions.
