Kiktedtim (I think) asked ‘why do you think you need to scan (iPhone) for virus?” I received a Google message on chrome that I had recently been infected by 13 viruses and my sim card was being destroyed.

There is no virus on your phone.
The message is a SCAM that is trying to trick you into buying useless software that will do nothing to help your phone....or worse, providing your personal information to the scammers.
Delete the message and any others like it that you will see.

It's a scam. The criminals who sent the message are hoping to panic you, so that you'll contact them to "resolve" the "issue" and fall prey to their tender mercies. Don't contact them or click any of the links in their messages.

It's a scam. A message warning of malware will only be legitimate if you manually started a scanner or uploaded a file to a website.
