OS x version 11

Hello, so i have a macbook pro 13 inch mid 2012, i am trying to download an app, for example 'word', but my laptop displays an error claiming it needs an OS X version 11 to download. Kindly help me resolve this please

Your computer can't be upgraded past Catalina. Try using a product such as LibreOffice instead.

Microsoft only supports the installation of current Microsoft 365, Office 2019 for Mac, or Office 2021 for Mac products on macOS Big Sur (11.*), Monterey (12.*), or Ventura (13.*). The have disabled the license servers for earlier retired Microsoft Office suites and will block any reinstallation on earlier versions of macOS.


Your Microsoft document compatibility options are the free LibreOffice as suggested by Niel, or look into Softmaker's Office 2024 for Mac if you have Mojave or later installed.
