Option to Delete from Library is grayed out

Make sure you're following the steps below to delete music from your library on your Mac using the Apple Music app:

Delete music on your Mac

1. Open the Apple Music app.

2. In the sidebar, click Songs or Albums.

3. From the menu bar, choose View > Only Downloaded Music.

4. If you want to delete a song, click the More button  next to the song. If you want to delete an album, move the pointer over the album and click the More button .

5. Click Remove Download to remove the item from only this device.

To delete the item across all of your devices, click Delete from Library and confirm when prompted.

If you can't delete your music

* Turn off computer syncing: If you used a USB cable to manually sync music from your Mac or PC to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, you can turn off syncing to remove content.

* Check if the item is downloaded: If you see  next to a song, it's downloaded on your device. If you don't see , the song isn't downloaded.
