Finder list view: cannot read filename when selected for editing (change filename)

Try a different Accent color in System Settings > Appearance.

Click on the header bar of the list view on the right side of the Name column. It will change to a different cursor and when it does click and drag to the right until the width of the column will show the names fully:

Not necessarily. I have problems with name columns being too narrow but have no problems with highlight color. So I saw the first screenshot and my attention was directed to it. Tunnel vision can be a hindrance.
