Apple Pencil not working?

My Apple Pencil stopped working yesterday but I presumed it was just dead.I charged it overnight then went to use it this afternoon but it wasn’t paring up with my iPad 6th generation or my old iPad (also 6th generation).The only thing I can think of is that I dropped it in a cup of water but it was in there for no more than 5 seconds and I immediately took the caps of to check it and I put them back on after.Can anyone think of something to help before taking it to an Apple shop?

An Apple Pencil is not designed to be waterproof.


Your device warranty does not cover accidental damage - whether by water or otherwise. If your iPad benefits from an active AppleCare plan (this being an optional additional cost purchase), then you Pencil may have benefit of being covered for accidental damage.


Other than the user-replaceable Pencil Tip, the Apple Pencil has no serviceable parts. If damaged or defective, the only remedy is replacement.
