So what's the solution now?

That iPhone has a hardware problem.

Could be a bad display, failing graphics, a battery problem, or something else.

If you can still use enough of that display to get a backup, go get that backup Right Now.

Then get this iPhone XR repaired or replaced.

Given the age, it'll probably be a replacement.

PS: iPhone XR can't run the upcoming iOS 17 version arriving later this year.

Is there a fee? Potentially, yes. How much would depend on the things I already told you:

There are basically two possibilities, and the costs involved would depend on what coverage you still have on this phone:

  1. The Apple technician determines that this issue is a manufacturing defect.
  2. The Apple technician determines it it not a manufacturing defect.

For a manufacturing defect, your iPhone was covered for up to one year since the purchase date. One additional year if you elected to purchase an AppleCare+ plan. In this case, a replacement phone may be had at little or no cost to you.

For a non-manufacturing defect: If you elected to purchase the AppleCare+ plan, and that plan is still active, you should get a replacement phone at a reduced cost. If that plan has expired, then the full cost of the replacement would be required from you.

Does the replacement involve me paying any fee?

Probably.

Unless the iPhone is still under warranty or has an active Apple Care+ plan and the issue is considered a manufacturing defect you will need to pay the repair charge, whatever they determine it to be.

There is not going to be free way of fixing that, short of magic.

I gave it to a technician and I was told it's the display that's having an issue. So my question now is does the display have anything to do with the screen like I mean is the display always done with the screen or the screen is working fine we just only need to change the display.

This is a failed iPhone XR. Either get it fixed, or recycle it and replace it. It’s quite possibly not worth repairing, too.

A quick question for a friend please. He was charging his iPhone and he slept off and when he wakes to unplug the charger he discovered that the was off and every possible ways that he tried to turn it on the phone won't turn on. Please any help?

If you have already tried “every possible ways”, then you have already tried everything. Contact Apple.

If your friend didn’t try everything, and didn’t check to see if the iPhone was charged, and didn’t try a forced restart, try that:

Force restart iPhone - Apple Support

If your iPhone or iPod touch won't charge - Apple Support

The first two button presses of the forced-restart are very quick, the third press is held until either the Apple logo shows, or the iPhone is dead and thirty seconds or so and headed for a discussion with Apple Support.
