If you cannot update wirelessly, you might want to update via a pc or Mac instead, here is how to do that

Update your iPhone using a Mac with macOS Catalina or higher

On a Mac with macOS Catalina or higher, you will use the finder in order to upgrade your iPhone. Make sure to Back up your device before starting the upgrade process.

On a Mac with macOS Catalina or later, you will follow the following steps:

  1. Open a finder window
  2. Connect your device to your Mac via a lighting to usb A or a lightning to usb c cable
  3. Select your device in the left sidebar of the finder window
  4. click general, then click check for update
  5. Click download and update.
  6. If asked, enter your iPhone passcode

Try and update via a pc or Mac instead. If the new rapid security response is not showing, restart iTunes or the Mac, and the iPhone and see if it pops up

If you're encountering an error while checking for a software update, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Check your internet connection: Ensure that you have a stable internet connection. A weak or intermittent connection can cause issues while checking for updates. Try restarting your router or connecting to a different network if possible.
  2. Restart your device: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary software glitches. Restart your device and try checking for updates again.
  3. Clear cache and data: If you're using a mobile device or a specific application to check for updates, clearing the cache and data of that application can help. Go to your device's settings, find the application responsible for software updates (e.g., "Software Update," "System Updates"), and clear its cache and data. Then, try checking for updates again.
  4. Check available storage space: Insufficient storage space on your device can prevent updates from being downloaded or installed. Make sure you have enough free space on your device for the update to proceed. Delete unnecessary files or apps if needed.
  5. Try a different update method: If you're encountering the error while using a specific method to check for updates (e.g., through a settings menu), try an alternative method. For example, you can visit the official website of the software or device manufacturer and look for manual update files or instructions.
  6. Contact support: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it may be helpful to contact the support team of the software or device manufacturer. They can provide specific troubleshooting steps or further assistance based on your situation.

Remember to always ensure that you have a backup of your important data before performing any software updates or troubleshooting steps, as unexpected issues can occur during the process.
