Overheating iPhone 14 pro

I bought this phone in January I have had several iPhones before and I never had this issue, the phone overheats very fast and gets very hot even when I’m only using just one app such as maps. Now in summer time I cannot use it when I’m outside because it gets black immediately, it even gets hot when it’s just in my handbag and I am not using it. Could the Apple warranty cover this?

We'd like to help rule out some possible causes, along with learning more about what's happening:

You mentioned that your iPhone 'gets black' when using it outdoors, but are we correct in understanding that your iPhone powers itself off when using it outdoors? The more details you provide about this, the better we'll understand what's happening.
Is it being used within its temperature range? Check for the range near the top here: If your iPhone or iPad gets too hot or too cold
We see you have iOS 16 installed, but the latest version is iOS 16.5.1. You can verify this within Settings > General > About. In case you needed it, this link shows how to first back up, then update: Update your iPhone or iPad

My iPhone 13 mini also self-overheats when it’s charging or just sitting on table doing nothing. i have updated to latest software but I’m worried hot phone could malfunction or explode
