my mailbox says 15 unread nessages but there aren

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities. We'd recommend filtering by unread if you haven't already, that may help you to find any emails that may be buried in your inbox. The following from Filter emails in Mail on iPhone - Apple Support can help if needed:

Filter emails

1. Tap  in the bottom-left corner of a mailbox list.

2. Tap “Filtered by,” then select or turn on the criteria for emails you want to view.

To turn off all filters, tap . To turn off a specific filter, tap “Filtered by,” then deselect it.

If that doesn't help, check your webmail for each of your accounts to see if there are unread emails there. That will help isolate this to either your iPhone or an email account.
