Messages not showing photos

Mac Mini 2 Pro running Ventura 13.4.1. Also have an iPhone and iPad. I have synced all devices. All three devices are connected to iCloud. All three devices are logged into iCloud with the same Apple ID.

Photos show up in iMessages on the iPhone and iPad. Photos do not show up in Messages on my Mac mini but text does.

To view photos Apple says to:

View photos or videos in Details view: Click the Details button in the top-right corner of the conversation, scroll to Photos, then double-click a file to open it.

But when I do that and scroll down there is nothing labeled Photos.

I have restarted all devices several times. I have logged out and back into iCloud multiple times. I have synced devices multiple times. What am I missing?

Mac mini, macOS 13.4

Hello BenTexas,

We noted you mentioned each device is signed in with the same Apple ID to iCloud. Is the Messages in iCloud feature also enabled on each of the devices? This page can provide assistance for double-checking where to find that on macOS and iOS: Set up iCloud for Messages on all your devices - Apple Support

Set up iCloud for Messages on your Mac
1. In the Messages app on your Mac, do one of the following:
* macOS Ventura: Choose Messages > Settings, click iMessage, then select Enable Messages in iCloud.
* macOS 12 or earlier: Choose Messages > Preferences, click iMessage, then select Enable Messages in iCloud.
4. Select which email addresses and phone numbers you want to send and receive messages from on your Mac.
5. Any messages currently stored in iCloud are now accessible on your Mac, and any new messages you receive on your Mac will be stored in iCloud.
6. Note: If you want to see SMS and MMS messages on your Mac, see the Apple Support article Forward SMS/MMS text messages from your iPhone to your Mac or iPad.
7. To see Messages stored in iCloud, open the Messages app.

If that feature isn't currently on in iCloud on the Mac, and you have the iCloud storage to support it, you may explore enabling it to help keep Messages and its contents in sync.

If that hasn't helped you may also explore manually quitting out of the Messages app (Messages menu > Quit Messages), and relaunch it.

Cheers.

On each device, Enable messages in iCloud is selected.

On each device the same email and telephone number is selected.

I receive messages on all three devices.

Attachments can be viewed on my iPhone and iPad.

Attachments can not be viewed on my Mac.

I have on several attempts, manually quit messages and relaunched. On several attempts I have also turned off and restarted my devices. On several attempts I have synced my devices.

Texts shows up on my Mac but no attached photos.

The people sending me texts with attached photos (that aren't showing up on my Mac) are using iPhones.
