Nikon NX Tether application
Tried with 2 different cables, and different USB-C ports
The application knows that it's a D7100, but it grayed out and does not appear in the yellow connected camera box.
I have seen "problem" posts about the Ventura update with various tethering applications, but no solution.

The last version of macOS listed as compatible with Nikon NX Tether is Big Sur.

Contact Nikon. It is their software and responsibility to keep it current with new releases of macOS. Apple provides the software development kits well in advance of an operating system release timeframe and vendors have sufficient time to make their software compatible — if they choose to do so.
Perhaps Nikon can recommend newer Nikon software or an alternative.
