If other devices are connecting with your Mac as expected, it is most likely not an issue with the port on your Mac. Please try connecting your camera with a different cable to test. If a new cable does not work, you can try these troubleshooting steps from Apple Support: If your device doesn’t work with Image Capture on Mac.
