I have just started getting “episode temporarily unavailable” messages on 90+% of podcasts I try to play. I also cannot download them, the circle just goes around and around forever.

This happened to me on my iPhone when I installed a VPN as part of MS Defender (part of my MS 365 subscription). I deleted Defender to disable the VPN and that fixed the problem.

I’ve been having the same issues. I’m on the latest version as of date if this post. Are you using a VPN? I disconnected from my VPN and attempted to stream/download the episode again and it worked immediately.
Disconnecting your VPN works.
This is very annoying. It’s obviously Apple, not the VPN. Are they trying to track non-ios users?
If you’ve downloaded the episode - delete it and stream it or re-download. I had the same issue after an update - my downloaded episodes would give the same error so I had to delete them all. Working fine now
Strange. Are there any available iOS updates?
Maybe try unfollowing the show and streaming directly from search or the browse tab?
Has anything else changed on your device recently ? Locale, language, time zone etc?

I'm having this same issue on MacOS podcast app. Just started a few weeks ago. It is only happening with certain podcasts. Those same feeds work just fine on my iPhone. Whats going on?
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I don’t have the eps downloaded. They won’t download and they won’t stream.
