The answer is yes, no and maybe. I know, I know, that’s vague and confusing. Let’s take a look at what Apple Cash and Apple Pay can and can’t do. I’ll also post some links to help you understand what’s possible.

Apple offer Apple Cash. Apple Cash is a prepaid debit card. It’s not a physical card and as such you’re limited as to where you can use Apple Cash.

Apple Cash can only be used at merchants that accept Apple Pay (links below).

ATMs are out. While some ATMs permit Apple Pay, you cannot go to an ATM and withdraw cash.

Some websites allow Apple Pay and it may work. Many websites require you to enter the 16 digit account number for Apple Pay, and you cannot access the 16 digit number. It’s the way it works.

A prepaid debit card is vastly different from a debit attached to a checking/savings account. You cannot take a picture of a check and deposit the check into your account.

Apple Cash works with many Apple services, but it’s a special type of debit card. If you explain what you want to use it for, it could be a great tool to do what you need/want.

What are you wanting to do with a debit card?

Set up Apple Cash - Apple Support

Identity verification for Apple Card or Apple Cash - Apple Support

Close your Apple Cash account or turn it off on a device - Apple Support

Send and receive money with Apple Cash - Apple Support

Add money to Apple Cash - Apple Support

I hope this helps and we’re happy to answer additional questions or concerns you may have.
