So, like for like i think every device as this point, it wouldnt restore at all, i was trying to restore to ios 4.1 but yet again it came up with the iphone was previously in dfu mode error, while im still in it and its connected, is it cuz of the win 2nd monitor?
and me closing my laptop?

This action of yours is not clear to me.
Your post doesn’t make much sense.
That said, a 3GS is obsolete and is not usable as a phone in most of the world. It’s not worth wasting your time on.
