Hi Isaiah_2,

It sounds like you have a question about the availability of the zoom feature on your iPhone SE. Check out the information below found in the guide here: iPhone camera basics - Apple Support

"Zoom in or out

  • On all models, open Camera and pinch the screen to zoom in or out.
  • On iPhone models with Dual and Triple camera systems, toggle between 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 2.5x, and 3x to quickly zoom in or out (depending on your model). For a more precise zoom, touch and hold the zoom controls, then drag the slider right or left."

Moreover the iPhone SE isn't listed in the models with Dual and Triple camera systems. You can view that in the link above.

You can also find helpful information about camera features on your iPhone here: About the Camera features on your iPhone - Apple Support

Cheers.

Is there any chance it will be added (0.5x zoom) to the iphone SE 2020 in any upcoming updates? Or there is any other way using 3rd party apps?

On iPhones that have two or three rear cameras, one of these is typically an ultra-wide camera. If you set the zoom level to 0.5x, the iPhone uses the ultra-wide camera to take photos.

The iPhone SE (2nd generation) only has one rear camera. There is no software update that can add a second camera or third camera to the phone. So all of your pictures start off as "normal" (for that phone). If you crop away the edges of a photo, and enlarge the rest ("digital zoom"), you can simulate a telephoto lens (with some possible loss in picture quality). But the extra parts of the scene which an ultra-wide lens/camera would record simply aren't there. Short of some sort of AI fabricating a scene that isn't there, you're working with the middle part of an ultra-wide photo, and no way of software knowing what was "just off the edges."

You'll have to settle for moving the camera further away from the subjects (which will change perspective).
