I have a MacBook Pro, OS 13.4.1, and all of a sudden when I get an incoming text message the voice repeats the text. I have tried to turn voice, (speech), off. But it still continues - how do I turn off?

Go to system settings>accessibility and see if speak auto text is on. You might want to turn that one off
Then is that only an iOS option and not for macOS. Let me think
Can you try this and after that restart your Mac to see if the issue is persisting?
When I logon to my MacBook Air (Ventura 13.4.1) I get a voice over message. I do not want any voice over messages on my computer but I cannot turn this one off. Also, my preferred language for writing is US International-PC but my computer keeps defaulting to Italian without any input from me.
I could not find "speak auto text"
I thought that fixed it but- I just got a text and it is still talking
