why is it saying erase pending on my computer for my iphone that got stolen for a week now?

It won't erase, unless it is powered on and connected to a network. Whoever stole it may not have it on and likely knows they can't use it. But they may try to sell it to some poor unsuspecting person who thinks they'll be getting a great deal on a used iPhone. That said, until it is powered on and connected to a network, it can't be erased.

Apple has to be able to connect to your device to pass on the instruction to erase. It is possible your device has run out of power or for some other reason cannot connect to the Internet.
